The listing names seven pieces: a matcha bowl, a bamboo whisk (chasen), a ceramic whisk holder, a bamboo scoop (chashaku), a 5 ml measuring spoon, a measuring cup and a strainer for sifting. It is sold in several glaze colours, including mottled green. YIBO describes the glaze as lead-free and the bamboo whisk as handmade.
Why this combination works for beginners
Two inclusions do more for a first cup than they appear to. The strainer lets you sift the powder before adding water, which is the most reliable fix for gritty matcha, and the holder keeps the whisk’s prongs curved inward as it dries, which extends the life of a part that wears out with use. Many cheaper kits leave both out. The measuring spoon is also more consistent than guessing with a bamboo scoop, which holds roughly a gram per scoop.
The spout and the bowl
