MatchaNest exists for one reason: to give you honest matcha reviews you can actually act on, written by someone who whisks this stuff every single day. There is a lot of mediocre powder hiding behind the word “ceremonial,” and a lot of breathless marketing that never tells you what a tin really tastes like in the bowl. We do the opposite.
Who we are
MatchaNest is edited by Mara Whitfield, who runs a small specialty tea shop and has tasted her way through hundreds of matchas over the years, from supermarket pouches to single-origin ceremonial grades from Uji. Every guide on this site comes from hands-on preparation and tasting, not a spec sheet or a press release.
How we work
Our rules are simple and we do not bend them. We buy the products we review with our own money. We accept no payment for a ranking or a kind word. And we always tell you the downsides, because no matcha, whisk, or bowl is perfect for everyone. You can read the full details of our standards in our editorial policy.
How we pay the bills
MatchaNest is reader-supported. When you buy through links on this site, we may earn a small commission from Amazon at no extra cost to you. That never changes our rankings or what we recommend. We explain exactly how this works on our affiliate disclosure page.
Where to start
If you are new here, begin with our flagship guide to the best ceremonial grade matcha, then pick up a proper matcha whisk and matcha bowl to whisk it in. Questions or feedback? We would love to hear from you on our contact page.
